firstly tell us about your self. Surreal or absurd or the bare boned truth.
A son of the music, who found his calling in all forms of expressionism. Comes from the beautiful city of Bangalore in India where he works and experiments with different art forms, both on and off his blog. Perpetually struck by wanderlust and goes anywhere that his feet will take him, also loves experimenting with light, colour and photography in various patterns and combinations. Thinks he's gonna make films someday and change the way people experience motion picture. Also designs clothes and provides fashion and aesthetic consultancy at his studio in Bangalore.
So then, why blogging? And do you see blogging as an art form?
Blogging, because i was visiting a friends blog a long time back and decided that i wanted to post my work since it gave me more freedom and flexibility, besides i prefer typing to writing any day.
although i don't see blogging as an art form, it is probably the best medium to showcase art forms of all sorts.
who are your influences? be they musical, philosophers, sculptures, painters whatever/whoever? Tell.
The influences have been many, but most primarily stemming from music and musicians. From John Lennon, Jim Morisson, Syd Barrett, Bob Dylan, Beethoven, J.S.Bach to Friedrich Nietzsche, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, Arthur Rimbaud, Charles Baudelaire to the Beat generation and all its free people, the mad and eccentric Neal Cassady, Jack Kerouac, William. S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg to Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst, Andy Warhol to Satyajit Ray, Akira Kurosawa and the list could go on, anyone who's freely expressed be it in any form was bound to create a stir.
how do you spend your days?
I spend my days dreaming about the stars and celestial objects, of aesthetics and things that rhyme. Exploring depths of unknown caves, getting lost into the internet, in a whirlwind of information and getting high in various forms of combinations which include alcohol and a smattering of herbs, spices and chemicals occasionally after which i cruise around in my own world.
how do you see society 100 hundred years from now? Better or worse?
100 years from now(if things continue the way they are going) i see people living in an immensely plastic society, in a world where every bit of thought arising was thoroughly brought about in a controlled environment. Where everything is so simplified and broken down, and the general IQ level would actually start dropping down. The change will definitely be for the worse, directly coming from the excessive exploitation humans cause which will only grow with time.
does art have any influence over society?
Art does have a major influence on the society and so does a good artist, because what art does, is that it presents a certain capsule of time captured and moulded in a piece, when society comes across art, it vibrates with the art. Whether what is depicted is an emotion, a moment, a feeling, even a whole lifetime captured or just absolute nothingness. There's a story in every piece and at different times, different people in the society are continually moved and influenced by art. It has immediate influences like capturing critical moments of the society and catapulting them to a level where the general awareness is heightened. A sort of a refuge both for the artist and the society itself.
is there any point in protest?
There is always a point to a protest, even if it doesn't affect immediately. A protest is like an outburst of canned and suppressed feelings that the general populace harbors in some way and finally when something is too strong to be resisted, people cry out and protest. As if breaking a bubble that they were being drawn into.
does your vote count or is it all a waste of time?
Even if my vote counts, i just happened to choose one dick over another, hoping that the amount of shit we'd get this time was probably in a sweeter coated pill.
who is your favourite all time band/group?
The Beatles & Pink Floyd i guess. Couldn't decide which i liked more!
would you do it with a poodle?
Naaah, i wouldn't want to piss off the noodle in my cupboard.
