cocaine jesus was born in romford.
england.
1954.
the first music he heard was nelly lutcher singing 'my little boy'.
the first music he liked was eddie cochran's 'c'mon everybody'.
it wasn't that he didn't like school, he did but for all the wrong reasons. teachers were such soft targets and so easy to wind up.
classes were created for his remit of chaos into carnival.
and girls were fragrant and gentle.
and the sixties happened with a promise of change that to this day remains unfulfilled.
he loved comics.
he loved music.
he loved books and art and cinema and television.
he didn't like work.
he grew up and out of the sixties and into the next century still liking comics. still liking music. still liking art and books.
he wanted to create but in a world where creativity was frowned upon.
'artist? you? don't make me laugh.'
people were smoke though. he drifted through them.
his influences have been alan moore. ivor cutler. viv stanshall. captain beefheart. frank zappa. yoko ono. jackson pollock. francis bacon. neil gaiman. david bowie. dada. jim steranko. steve ditko. robert fripp. ian dury. bjork. and anything or anyone with an ounce of individuality.
discharge was/is a way of doing things. a tao of dreams placed in words and visuals.
