May 2013
The energy seems somehow spunky, like fuse wire tearing as sparks fly. I have tried to inject some sort of focus with my rants against organised faith but it is the combined efforts of old crew and new with their creative imaginings that are pushing us on.
Ruela is, as he always does, re-inventing his art in fresh, exciting ways.
Yep, it feels good, D8 that is.

April 2013
It started with thrust,D8 that is, and that initial drive is growing. Slowly but surely new blood is flooding in to mix with the old guard. It looks good. It feels good. I FEEL GOOD. One new body has joined us, Kerosene and an old face returned, A.D. Hitchin. The feel is punchy which is good. I like that edgy feel. I hope it embraces a spirit of punk but with a generous heart so that traditional values and art can sit side by side with new. Modernity is all well and good but sometimes it is far to deep up its own arse for my taste.
D8 has that old attitude it first had when Dee Dee and I started it some eight years ago, 'Not One Rats Ass.'
Gods bless that ladies wonderful expression.

December 2012
discharge of Facebook seems to have suffered as does the other e sites. Sorry. I should have paid more attention to those but I haven't.
My dream of having discharge as a magazine on ISSUU remains. I so want to do that but haven't the time or ability to create a cover or design for the publication.
My friend and co-creative partner Dave, aka Stickleback2 and I fell out over something dumb. My fault not his. Without his help, or someone like him. In his absence I tried t enlist the help of another mate, another creative but nothing has come of it. If any one of the D7 team want to help then I'd be grateful.
What I would like is for a magazine cover and inner to be designed but bearing in mind it will change after the first year. I think a bi-monthly or even quarterly would work best. The number of people who have viewed the chapbooks that Dorinadra, Rulea, Tictac and I have created have been good. Very good. I think having a magazine would grant us greater visibilty efeectively raising all artosts on D7's profile.
Any and all help would be appreciated.
For now though, love to all and have a great Christmas and an evrn better 2013!

June 2012
I have been posting one or two bits on D7. Not much I grant you but some. I miss the place but still I'm not sure when or if I will be returning full time. The one thing I had wanted to do was start a Discharge Magazine online. My first thoughts, having seen how well and how popular the ISSUU site has been was to ask Ruela for the password so that I could start publishing there. Sadly, the artist and design creative who I had enlisted to work with me has had second thoughts. This is such a shame as I wanted the online Mag to not only feature all the guys and girls who have been so dedicated to D7 and previous incarnations but to extend that 'barrow boys and girls' philosophy and feature articles about all manner of other artists, poets, authors, sculptors, musicians and the like. If I ever find someone willing to work with me on this I shall let you all know.
Take care and much love,
Russell 'C.J.' Duffy

And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make"
Leaving is such sweet sorrow so someone once said. They were right. For six years now I have been a part of this wonderful team and enjoyed every minute of it. I think that enjoyment has waned in recent months to such a degree that I no longer contribute as I should. The blog and the rest of the discharge internet is well taken care of by Ruela. He runs that particular show now and will do for as long as he wants. Ruela is the curator. However, I find myself unable to just 'pack-up' and go. My time with discharge is not yet finished.
Thanks for having me and look out for me on ISSUU. With a little luck discharge the magazine is coming soon. I am hoping that together with Mark Scammell we will be able to design then write a monthly magazine that will feature not only the existing team but also other artists from around the world. Not just image makers but poets, musicians, film makers etc. I also hope to include articles on a range of other creative features too including historical pieces that do not always concentrate purely on European or American culture but which will be all inclusive from around the world.
Keep your eyes peeled.
Love,
Russell

November 2011
It feels oddly sad for me to be leaving the Reverse Metal duties and even worse to be leaving discharge. The sites will continue much as they have for the past two years under Ruela's excellent editorship.
A part of me though cannot help but wonder if it isn't time for discharge to mutate into something else? It has grown along the internet so that now it is on Facebook, Myspace and ISSUU. It would have been great had both Murmurists and Aaron been able to acheive their desires and produced a DVD discharge film and music CD but hey ho, another time maybe.
Perhaps Ruela will take discharge back to its punk/goth roots?
Maybe Doriandra will snip her shears cutting away everything to the bone.
Who knows?
discharge is far bigger than either mine or Ruela's egos and will continue in one form or another for many years yet.
This being the penultimate journal entry I will make here makes me sad but I have realy run out of steam and need to move on.

September 2011
Ruela's fine series of mutant portraits have been exciting to wintness as they arrived, fully fledged and bursting with vitality.
I always try and mention all who have impressed or posted but that seems pointless now as so many individuals are committing both time and energy to this beloved site all it now needs is to keep reinventing ourselves and discharge itself.
Let us be brave and daring. Group sex may be fun!

August 2011
Something’s remain, if not constant then the same.
The problem with being static is nothing moves.
discharge has been evolving now for six years.
We now have the largest compliment of team members we have ever had.
I am not sure we need that many.
Too many are not contributing regularly enough if at all.
I find it all rather disheartening. Either commit or leave.
I have said this all before of course and have had others tell me not to be so harsh.
Let me explain exactly what I mean.
Some of us post at an alarming rate and regularly. Others post infrequently but still make the effort. Then there are those who sign-up and do fuck all.
Do we need people who have no intention of doing anything at all?
I don’t think so.
On another note, Tictac, CHM, Doriandra have produced some incredible stuff Dee Dee keeps posting those dry but hearfelt takes on life which I love. Tictac's last image was incredible. Todeskino has been posting some very interesting and challenging work. I like it very much even if it does at times make me feel uncomfortable. Iryna Harpy, Mo, leperson, Babalith, murmurists, jbkrost, Shadow Lor and Mersault have also been producing some great stuff. And of course there is Ruela whose latest collection of 21st centurt portraits litter the site with their beauty.
Like the young man in the bathroom, keeping banging them out guys.

July 2011
Tictac's superb book has filled many an hour as i have read then re-read the content. It was in many ways a mail art concept with a twist and one I think we should follow again. Who will step up to the plate and edit though?
Questions, questions.
Then just as I was feeling all warm and comfortable, Rulea pops up with chapbook six, which really is chapbook seven but that's another story, to flater my senses with its debauched art and anarchistic art.
Many of the old crew all silent now even if their names haunt the blog like ghosts: junior, Lazare, Tictac. No complaints as far as I am concerned as they have all been hige contributors to what has to be the greatest art blog in the world.
July is just another month but I wonder what it will thrwo our way in terms of this site?

It is as though we have gone from a tight band to a full blown orchestra.
Brash noises abound. Clashing cymbals, braying metallic chords, harsh tin drums.
This D7 is the most eclectic yet.
A diverse diversion.
Humble and huge.
It seems to rumble on at an ever increasing velocity.
Suicide in mind?
The end of the dream perhaps or just another mutation?
I wish I had time to dedicate as I have so many things I would like to post, videos mostly, but such is life. Good to see an equall amount of females now contributing.
The Lions and Lambs of discharge prowl on.
My monster lumbers on.

May 2011
There is some arcane force driving discharge, some force of nature that propels it. I am uncertain if it is anything to do with anyone individual anymore. It is almost as though the beast has taken on a life force of its own and is whipping all the various contributors, like galley slaves, into a frenzy of creativity. As Murmurists once declared, the input of the individual is only a small part of the whole and the whole is the art and not the individual contributions. This in effect means that D7 in its entirety is the art and that idea is quite liberating when you think about it. It is also a declaration of the age old principle of community, of socialism, of pack animals acting as one.
We are discharge.
We are D7
Great work so far one and all.

April 2011
A fantatstic effort by one and all. Makes me feel that my doubts about continuing discharge or of leaving are unfounded and pointless.
The new D7 has gone off like a storm. A rage of new artwork that has filled the site in unbelievable time. Such great artwork to.Ruela has again done us proud with the new intake that compliment the old gang so well.
Love to all.

March 2011
The current team are burning hot. So much new art being posted. I was delighted to see the quality of work produced and was especially enthralled by the posts of jbkrost, Pete Hoge, A.Decker, Cristina (CHM), Rosa and little Mo. Excellent work by all. Mustn't forget those 'old' stalwarts: Ruela, Tictac and of course Doriandra. Such shapes, colours and flavours; so rich in their eclectic mix.
Hopefully, Tictac has received everyone’s contributions for the next discharge chapbook of which I am really looking forward to.
Keep happy people and love yourselves and those you love equally.

February 2011
The lovely Tictac has come up with a brilliant idea for the next discharge chapbook. It consists of as many of the D6 team as possible sending her their original artwork/poetry which she will then compile into a book format before sending out the completed chapbook to those who contributed.
Sadly, only a handful are able to work on this project and I hope that this does not make Tictac feel despondent in any way as I think the idea is splendid.
Contributeurs are:
Tictac
Ruela
CHM
Doriandra
Jase
Nera Batina
Auraborus
JB Rood
Josh
Shadow Lor

I know you wont but don’t let her down.
D7 is coming along but I confess to not doing much with it of late. I am, again, very busy, and have, if I am to be honest, putting it off whilst i do other stuff. No doubt Ruela will dive in, as he always does, and sort out the muddle I have created.
Keep at it guys as you are the best.

January 2011
Another year gone and new one just begun.
Hard to believe that the Discharge series is now entering its sixth year.
Our 'baby' is growing fast. Next it will be teenage tantrums but sadly no Rock and Roll. Or maybe there will, who knows?
A thought, one of many that enters my head when they possibly shouldn't, is something Ruela discovered some while ago; something that I and Dave Vigor use a lot now: ISSUU.
Oh yeah? I hear you cry, and what of ISSUU?
ISSUU is where Ruela, myself and Krome2 (Vigor and Duffy) publish our chapbooks and other works of art/literature.Ruel has in fact posted a few of our old chapbooks there.
Yeah? What of it? you may respond to which I can only answer with this...
Why don't we do a bi-monthly magazine, say a twenty page chapbook, that features the very best bits from the blog. Ruela, or whoever, can edit it, maybe even take turns with it. We could all add our E-mail addresses which, when you think of it, would give us a hell of an audience. We can still to our irregular chapbooks with hopefully, Tictac doing the next one!
Anyway, hope you all had a good yuletide and that 2011 brings you all you need.
Love 'n stuff

December 2010
What do you guys think?
Are you happy with the way Discharge 6 is progressing?
Personally I am more than happy, certainly with everything Ruela has done, all the energy he has put into the project, all the new and fresh blood he has introduced.
All in all I like the way D6 has moved on and away from having text replacing it with such an excellent array of paint/image focused art.
We have, as by tradition, always moved on from one discharge to another. This first began when I, along with Doriandra, moved from the initial Discharge to Discharge 2 and so on. Now, with Ruela's, excellent 'editorship' we have Discharge 6. there is a D7. I know this as I have created it. I have done this with two diametrically opposing thoughts in mind. The first is my natural instinct to constantly keep moving on, pushing things in new directions, seeing what else can be achieved but there is also a feeling (maybe I am getting old) of not only familiarity but of being very contented with how things currently are. I have no say in this anymore. It is now up to us and to Ruela. This then makes me question why I have created a D7 that is, in presentation terms only, different as it is no longer with a black background but white with just a hint of Bonzo/Zappa humour..
As I said, it is my nature to challenge and change. If and when, and with Ruela's say so, D7(http://dirtyangelsofart.blogspot.com/) is ready but, I don't think, quite yet.
Well?
What do you guys think?

November 2010
November. Pale and grim here in Britain. It was a welcome burst of sunlght when the sixth discharge chapbook arrived. I wrote the words but that gave me no insight into what Ruela would do with those words so that the surprise was just the same for me as for the rest of team.
It was a pleasue to view and encourages me to do more of these chapbooks even if we still haven't, as yet, produced the DVD or CD we spoke so long ago. Maybe one day.
The new intake of discharge team members is exciting as all have added a new angle on what is fast becoming an old blog. More power to them.

October 2010
Every once in a while discharge goes into a slump, a dry period when the spark that drives this series flickers and fades. Fortunately it never goes out but re-ignites again with some truly exciting work.
Iryna Harpy worked some magic recently with her amazing vocals. It is the sort of thing that certainly rocks this mans boat. As does the grand old dame (less of the old I her scream) Doriandra who has been sizzling of late along with Ruela and J. B Decker.
The whole team has been firing on all cylinders of late and it is when this happens that discharge goes into overdrive. It is bloody incredible when it does.

September 2010
A faint wind of Autumn blew me a warning.
Summer is fading and winter waits.
Discharge grows as it always has, evolving with each new contributor.
The art flakes away the constant threat of repetition as does the poetry that flows in fractured syllables from the collective pens of the creators.
Always entertaining. Forever changing. D6 is moving where we haven't been before and D7 will undoubtedly flow to another tide.
I recently received DD Wildblood's book and was chuffed to see a dedication to us discharger’s. The book is a wonderful, surreal work with an unsettling but easy style that I found electrifying to read.

August 2010
August comes with a lick of hot sun but nothing is as hot, or indeed as cool, as the art and words on discharge. Ruela and the team, both old and new, are producing some staggering stuff.
Doriandra's recent photo features, presumably one of her beautifully designed dresses as worn by an equally beautiful female.
CHM's pop art self portrait is wonderfully colourful (note the use of a U all you American's!)and A.Decker seems to have a fire burning in his pants.
Fantastic stuff.
Funtastic stoff.
The fantastic stiff.
